A 630 A Simotrol main switchboard manufactured by CWS for a cold-storage upgrade. Refrigeration supplies, building services, metering and protection interfaces brought together in a four-section assembly.

A cold-storage facility needs electrical distribution for both its refrigeration plant and the services around it. This upgrade brought those requirements into one main switchboard package, manufactured in Invercargill.
The assembly provides supplies for a refrigeration skid, evaporator fan drives, an active harmonic filter and downstream distribution. Separate building-services and cooling/heating distribution boards are incorporated within the line-up.
That makes this a main-distribution project with several distinct equipment interfaces. The board layout gives incoming protection, metering, plant supplies and final circuits their own defined positions.

Tariff metering and a refrigeration-skid feeder sit in the second section, with additional unequipped space identified in the layout.
The building-services board covers lighting, socket outlets and an office submain. This section also includes the active harmonic-filter supply and a fan-drive feeder.
The cooling/heating board supplies fan, defrost and control circuits, alongside further outgoing distribution and the second fan-drive feeder.

The construction photograph shows the horizontal and vertical busbar arrangement, supports and defined equipment space before the final assembly is complete.
The documented main-bus duty for this project is 40 kA for one second. The assembly current rating is 630 A; the incoming breaker setting is a separate project parameter.
Keeping the construction, device selection and project settings coordinated is part of turning a supply scheme into a manufactured switchboard.

The cooling/heating circuit schedule includes gas-cooler and plant-room fans, electric coil and tray defrost loads, a cooling-system control panel and an existing PLC panel supply.
The photograph shows the completed distribution-board front with circuit identification and blanked spare ways. These final circuits have a different role from the larger outgoing plant feeders, but belong to the same coordinated package.
Explore CWS distribution boardsThe project includes tariff metering and power-monitoring provisions, an active harmonic-filter supply and monitoring CTs, plus an arc-flash relay arrangement with sensing and main-breaker trip interfaces.
These are specific functions included in the assembly design. Their settings and commissioning need to be coordinated with the wider installation. The presence of an arc-flash relay does not establish an arc-resistant assembly classification.
The switchboard supplies the connected equipment; the case study does not attribute refrigeration-plant or drive manufacture to CWS.
The enclosure is 3,660 mm wide, 2,220 mm high and 480 mm deep, excluding externally mounted equipment. Incoming mains enter from below, with top or bottom entry for outgoing circuits.
The completed workshop assembly shows CWS capability to coordinate incoming supply, refrigeration feeders, auxiliary distribution and protection interfaces within one project-specific main switchboard.
